  1. I would have loved to be walking to the cobbler’s, hear some screams, turn to see what they were about and see this great scientist yelling at the ground.

  2. He went from writing about worms to feeding them in a short amount of time. Maybe he had a slightly morbid fascination with them seeing that he was approaching the end?
    Fascinating though, I might have to get this book

  3. There is a story about a soviet scientist who would shout at spiders and then cut a leg, one by one. After cutting 8 legs the scientist concluded that spiders hearing organs are located at each of the legs…
